In 1987, the Aircraft Preservation Group received a BMW-003 axial-flow gas turbine engine from a Luftwaffe’s Me-262 jet fighter and arrived from the Science Museum.  It was returned for display in the Museum in January 1989 as the first project delivered by MAPSL.
