Short S.16 Scion II Floatplane G-AEZF
Following its display in Rochester Cathedral throughout August 2025, the aeroplane is currently being completed and painted in the workshop. An original main under-carriage has also been refurbished so it can alternatively be displayed as a landplane.
We are currently looking for a permanent home for this aeroplane, ideally in the local area to maintain the links between Short Brothers and North Kent.
This engine was at the University of Delft. When the Germans annexed the Benelux countries early during WWII, it was sectioned as a training aid and therefore survived. Purchased by MAPSL in 2012, it has since been cleaned and motorised.
Unfortunately we do not have a complete engine but what we have has been cleaned and restored to a very high standard. Should anyone know of a Pobjoy engine or parts anywhere please contact MAPSL.

These two items have been restored for different clients. They were used to start the Merlin engines used on many WWII British aeroplanes and demonstrate how much variation there was in these items.
