How to visit us
The workshop is located in the grounds of Rochester Airport. It is an operational airport which has 24 hour 7 days security and 24 hour aircraft movements. Active areas have to be crossed to reach the workshop - always obey the traffic lights and any other notices.
Rochester Airport has CCTV which is recorded as well as monitored on site.
Police and prison dogs regularly use the site for training purposes. (We wish not for them to be distracted.)
Regional Special Branch Police officers and Customs and Immigration Services monitor the airport both on site and remotely with CCTV.
MAPSL is not a museum but an active workshop with limited space. Always keep within the indicated areas, obey the staff and do not touch anything without permission.
Access: During the refurbishment work at Rochester Airport, visitors must turn left at the gates and follow the unmade track to park behind the soft-walled hangar. Then follow the track to the corner of the airfield, cross in front of Hangar 4 (work in progress) to the front of the large Hangar 3; keeping close to the front of both Hangars, proceed with care to the control tower and turn left to the blue doors of the MAPSL Workshop. Please note that the apron is LIVE.
Our new building will be closer to the main road with much easier access.
